Strong shoulders, strong arms and strong legs

Casuals recent sequence of away games have shown improvements each week. Tackling, powerful running and quick movement of the ball have been highlights.
So, we arrived at Bingham today with high expectations, and both Casuals teams delivered brilliant performances. Tasked with focusing on their line speed and moving together; and completing tackles and driving with strong legs.
Casuals started really brightly, steaming through for try after try. Horatio was straight into the Bingham defence, giving them no opportunity to catch him as he slipped though. Harry M, again, twinkled around the pitch causing lots of problems. Jhett was taking no prisoners as his direct running crashed into Bingham defenders and caused chaos, taking at least 3 Bingham defenders to put the brakes on. Bingham rallied though and had attacks and tries of their own; but not as many as there could have been as William and Horatio combined more than once to bring down a Bingham attacker. Wilfred used his power to home in and clamp onto attackers as well and drive them off of the pitch. Cairo got in on the action and chased everything down. Oliver made some great tackles; and again, drove his legs to repel attacks.
On the second pitch, both teams exploited some gaps in defence to make early scores but defences soon adapted to more impenetrable walls of defence with Casuals especially, showing their tackling capabilities. Casuals’ team handling skills made the difference as quick off loads meant Bingham were often not able to complete the tackle. Support play was great and there was always someone in a good position to pass to. Adam finishing off one particularly memorable team try. Quick feet from Verity, Harry H and Sery meant team were able to exploit any space the opposition gave us and furious tackling from everyone but particularly Rory and Thomas meant Bingham were often on the backfoot.
A well-deserved player of the week to William for showing good respect and listening to improve his tackle completions as the game progressed.
