CAPTAINS MATCH REPORT BY ED THOMPSON

Today's game at Derby, though it was a friendly felt very competitive and quite aggressive. The first half we played some excellent rugby with three quick tries and managed to hold our lead to halftime. Second half Derby ramped up and switched on ,with support from their parents and managed to claw back and get the lead ,all thanks to their number 21, who was very fast and strong. He basically carried their them. But importantly we didn't give up and powered through and made it a draw thanks to Reds superb late try! There was some great tackles today but something to improve on is the backfoot and getting those tackles in a tad earlier so the fast guys don't gain momentum. But asides from that well done. In the end even though it was a draw it felt like a win.
