Nottingham Casuals U13s marked their first home game as Juniors with a well-earned victory over Newark in the sunshine at Canalside.

Led by captain Ollie, the boys started strongly, pushing Newark back with firm tackling and some good passing moves. Hugo was his usual nuisance to the opposition, keeping Newark’s defence busy and finishing the game with an impressive three tries.

Newark played their part in an entertaining contest, with some excellent running from their forwards and promising attacking moves. On several occasions, they looked ready to break through the Casuals defence, only for a final pass or knock-on to deny them.

The Casuals “bomb squad” of Zane, Xander and Preston arrived in the second half, adding power to the front row and centres and helping the team maintain their momentum.

There were plenty of good performances across the squad, but special mention goes to Jake, who was excellent throughout, and George on his first outing for the U13s. Great to have you on board, George!

A strong team effort and a fitting way to begin Junior rugby at home. Well done, Casuals!
