First game up was against our hosts, Loughborough. They had some strong physical girls, were well organised and competed well in the rucks. We held them at bay, shared some turnovers but kept going, there was very little respite. Hard tackling, well organised pods and the purple ball moves made it to the wings! Our scrum also performed really well. Confidence was as high as was their energy and Casuals came out on top with the final score 5-12.

In the second game, Long Eaton were a little more disorganised and our defence got sucked into that a bit. However, we managed to shut down the fast girls and kept plugging away to eventually get on top. This was our second game back-to-back and Long Eaton’s first match, so our girls were a little fatigued in comparison. We won 14-10 with some great defensive play key to our success.

All in all, a really positive performance from everyone!
