Skippers match report by Ed

This Sunday morning we traveled to Mellish. Coming in to this match we knew it would be a very physical team we were up against from previous seasons. The game kicked off and we found ourselves down by by three tries after 20 minutes. We fought for the ball against them and our defense was strong but not strong enough as we were beaten off the ball in some scrums but we kept pushing and in the second half we squeezed in our only try with five minutes to go. Well done James.Unfortunately we finished the game four tries down. No need to panic as it is early in the season and we have time to improve. In the game I thought the forwards did a great job being strong! Well done to all forwards. Where as I can not say the same for the backs. There was some good tackling on the wings and some good reacting to the penalties. And some excellent kicking to touch by Redd, well done. But asides that when the backs got the ball we under performed with a lot of dropped balls and missed passes. We could have done better. Onwards and upwards its only our second game so still many things to work on. See you all at training. Ed
