Dronfield (away), Sun 11 Oct 2026

66-0
(12 Tries - Fin (5), Bradwell (4), Nathan, Liam, Jesse;
3 Conversions - Liam, Archie, Fin)

This game had been scheduled as a cup fixture, but on arrival Dronfield could only field ten players. They forfeit the cup match, and we agreed to loan them players to make a competitive match. That was the last thing we gave them all morning...

Fin and Bradwell competed for numbers of tries scored as their raw speed and power broke them through time and again. Nathan scored a bulldozing try that had us concerned for the health of the posts after they lost that duel, Liam neatly finished a great team effort after fine support work from Owen and Felix, and Jesse got a chance to show his speed down the wing for a debut try.

It was a fantastic team effort, with the obvious highlight (for me, Sam's dad) being Sam's 50 metre charge down the pitch, skittling half the Dronfield team. But every player did their part, whether with crunching tackles in defence (Noah, Olli, Jesse), making yards as a pack (Mikey, Otto, Stan, Jack, Nathan), or their overall link play and commitment (Owen, Felix, Liam). The level of commitment left its literal marks all over Oscar's face....a constant sidestepping menace to the opposition, his confidence growing game by game.

This was ultimately only a training run, with lots of different combinations tried, but special credit to Mr Versatility, Archie, for seamlessly slotting in at 9, 10 and 13 in different quarters, nailing a conversion, and playing one quarter for Dronfield.

Congratulations to Jack (on his debut!) for player of the week for getting stuck in and doing everything thatvwas asked of him!

Well done to all of the boys on (gasp) another win, and a second consecutive week when we nilled the opposition! We can only beat what's in front of us, but the whole team can be proud of how they performed today.
