Fantastic effort from everyone away at Bingham RFC, which gave us a very warm welcome on what was a very miserable day. It was great to see new players bonding well with more experienced members of the team.

Considering that it was the first game of the season, the quality of play was impressive. Very few handling errors were made, and the tackling technique was excellent. Some outstanding tackles were made at key moments, interrupting the Bingham attack, and no high tackles were made. Quite a few speedy runs down the wing were evident, sometimes causing the opposition to resort to pushing us over the touchline. Let’s remember to not get too close to that touchline during attacking play though – we lost possession quite a few times by accidentally stepping over the line!

Player of the week was Amayah, who made some outstanding tackles and strong runs, continually testing the Bingham defence.
