Leicester Forest get the chop at Casuals

Midlands 2 East North

Casuals 32 Leics Forest 3

Casuals were not in a giving mood, as they wrapped up another bonus point win.
A sackful of tries, including 3 from Santas little friend Ma Higgins,(nice little red number Mark), Ben Hallam and Jonny Morris.

The game was only 4 minutes in, when Casuals were awarded a scrum midfield.
Ben (Moose) Wells broke from No 8, and managed to keep trundling through a host of tackles. From the ensuing maul the ball was sent right, and Brodie Howatson coming in late to the line at a hell of a rate, broke through, and set full back Ben Hallam on an unimpeded canter to the line.

Casuals kept up the pressure, but despite some good forays, were unable to increase their score.
It was Leicester Forest who scored just after the ½ hour, when they kicked a penalty. But that was their first and last score.
2 minutes later, Jon Ackroyd made a huge break and just as he was reaching the try line, the defence managed to haul him down, but as the ruck formed, Higgins picked up and went through for the second try.
Casuals finished off the half with another try from Higgins after an excellent build up.

Second half sub Jonny Morris was the next on the score sheet.
Higgins kicked ahead, and Howatson caught the Forest defender in possession, which resulted in a penalty to Casuals.
Taken very quickly by (you guessed it Higgins?, Morris found a huge gap to go through for the try.
Higginsconverted.

Things petered off a little bit as Casuals tried too hard to create moves which failed to come off, with possession sometimes being unnecessarily wasted. The odd moments of individuals trying to do too much, or some offloads which just didn't work.

Eventually however Casuals got 2 more scores.

The first was a simple penalty from Higgins and he followed that up with a try, sneaking through when the forwards had done all the hard work.
Converted it as well.

Ken asked me to include "Well done Higgins" for one last time in 2011
Who can refuse Ken

Things are looking good as Casuals bring competitive rugby in 2011 to a close.

Merry Christmas and a happy New year to one and all.
Next game is against West Bridgford on January 7th at 2.15

Don't forget to ask Santa for some new kit this Christmas, especially new club socks.
