Having had West Bridgeford drop out on Wednesday we now had Loughborough. They brought a young inexperienced team who early on seemed no match for our strong experienced pack. We were able to keep it tight and got the first try through Shaun. However, they soon realised that we were very short on experience in the backs and had no recognised centres, although Mambers and Archie did some sterling work there was very little organisation and they simply went round us! They had a lot of pace and we didn't (except Sam). They ran in a lot of tries and were convincing winners. I was really proud of our lads as although the game was clearly lost we never stopped chasing and kept playing to the end. Next week is due to be Newark 2nd XV in the cup, however, I have spoken to Dave and he is trying to organise a more suitable fixture. More organisation needed next week in our defensive line.
