Ashbourne 2nd XV v Nottingham 2nd XV

Casuals started brightly and had Ashbourne in their own 22 for the first 20 minutes. Ashbourne scored first though, but didn't covert.

Then a penalty right in front of the posts gave Casuals a chance to get 3 points back, but, decided to keep the pressure on an went for try. Neil Kilbride crossed the line from the resultant play but Ashbourne held it up. Slack scored a penalty soon afterward.

A bang to my head meant the rest of the game was a bit of a blur, but, they scored another try from an intercepted pass on the edge of the Casuals 22, which was converted. A last gasp tackle from Gareth prevented another Ashbourne try.

The second half was as fast paced as the first. Casuals got a try back through Gopel, who had caused problems for them all day, but Slack missed the kick - which was at a hard angle.

Ashbourne scored again, but Joe Barton struck back minutes later, not converted. As the seconds died out Casuals fought on, the Ashboure defense too dogged.

Final score 17-13.
