The Joe Show...

Never has the final whistle come quick enough. After being 4 tries to 1 up with only 15 minutes left Casuals looked at have won nicely. But heads were lost and weakness' exposed towards the end and Bridgeford scored two good tries late on to setup a nailbiting finish.

A good proportion of the 2nd XV were 3rd team players, but rather than filling the numbers the team strength was increased no end by the well timed try saving tackles of Kingy and the leadership and massive, err, presence, of Robbins and Kelvin. We owe our 3rd team players a huge amount of the part they played in the win.

The team's scrum was spoilt for choice in the front row and pack and the scums during the game reflected this. Casuals were dominant throughout and 3, if not 4 of the tries came directly from scums. The lineout was good also, conditions considered, and Lewis Brown, Rob Walker and Neil Kilbride's jumping was matched by the lifting of the big guys.

Elsewhere on the park, things were good at times and not so good at times. A set of players not used to playing together took time to get sorted defensively in the backs and our attacking game plan was not consistent. Without our scrum the game could have been a different result.

But who cares right? A bonus point win away (With the 1st winning the other fixture at home) is hardly a bad day. Some work to do, but a friendly next week is great chance to get it better.

Joe's 4 tries stole the show, but the win belonged to the pack.

Congrats to Richard Mawson on his and Kerry's baby news, we now need to think about how big his arse will be next time we see him (It appears to keep growing...)

And is it possible for any man to use Coco Butter Lip Balm and still call himself a man? You know who I'm talking about...

I would like to personally thank those who traveled, but stepped aside to allow others to play. Bob, Buckers, Shauny & Steve, thanks to all of you. Also to the 3rd team regulars who have given the selection committee a great deal to think about on Tuesday... (Weedon, pipe down!)
